NHEC held Education Seminar

NHEC’s Education Program opened and discussed an educational seminar near Mae Sod in Mae Slit; Thai-Burma Borders. NHEC’s multi-ethnic and multi-organizational education research teams which are comprised of academics, researchers and senior educators in ethnic and democratic organizations. The position papers mainly focus on national concerns and curricular issues in school education. The papers addressed current needs in reform the education system based on rights based approaches.

Education policies essential to establish a democratic society are discussed as broad and balanced curriculum is advised. Preservations of ethnic and regional languages and cultures and sustainable lifestyles are also critical components for a multi-culture Burma. The seminar discussed for three days and altogether about 58 people attended to seminar. They are Mon National Education Committee (MNEC), KED, KnEd, KNPLF, PPlO, LDF, SSA, GHRE , ABSDF, WLB, ABFSU-FAC, BMWEC, BMTA, BHSO, SAW, Ta Byay Education Network, SYCB, ZOA, ZRS, World Education, NHEC (HQ) and NHEC (WR).

In this Seminar , the patron head seminars whom are U Yan Naung Myint (NHEC committee member, NLDLA), U Khun  Phaya Teat Luu (PPLO) and NHEC’s Education Director gave speech in the opening ceremony and Saw Lhar Say (KED) gave speech in the closing ceremony. The head of ceremonies are Ko Zin Naing (NHE- WR’s Director), Ms Dwelling (Education 1) and Ma Khin Lay Nge (Education Officer 2).
